The clients who own this rambler had hired Cornice Construction to remodel their home years earlier by converting the garage to a Master suite, remodel the Kitchen and add a Garage and Craft room to the back of their lot. As their family grew, the clients called on Charles C. Mellon, Architect, to design this contemporary addition and contacted Cornice Construction for another remodel. The design included an addition over the existing garage and a dramatic glassed in stairwell to gain access to the new second story Master Suite. The stair well includes a reading alcove under the stairs and a swing in the hallway.

The clients were so happy with the results that they welcomed Cornice Construction's entry of the home into the 2009 Remodeled Homes Tour and Benefit put on by the Remodelers Council of the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties.
